Making Photoshop Scanned Figures

Procedure

1. Open Adobe Photoshop 5.0
2. Click on File
3. Drag through menu to rest on Import
4. Drag through menu to rest on VitaScan2.4.3... (not auto!)
5. Put subject figure onto scanner.
6. Put Settings to: Gray, 600dpi, Transmissive, 100%. (note: transmissive setting is for clear x-ray films . Change for comassie gels, etc.)
7. Click on Preview.
8. Draw (dotted) box around portion of preview you want to be your figure.
9. Click on Scan
10. Save scan.
