Job Description: A postdoctoral position is immediately available for candidates with Ph.D., M.D., M.D./Ph.D., or equivalent degrees in life science disciplines (preferably cell biology, biochemistry, molecular biology)  who seek superior biomedical research training in the field of protein misfolding, neurodegeneration, protein homeostasis and aging, using a combination of genetic, cell biological, and biochemical approaches.

Job Title: Postdoctoral Scientist, Cardiovascular Program
Job Description: A postdoctoral scientist position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Noriaki Ikemoto at Boston Biomedical Research Institute (www.bbri.org). This is a two year, grant-supported position that will begin in September, 2009 and depends on final budgetary approval.

The research focus of the laboratory is on cardiovascular disease and its pharmacological treatment. Our laboratory uses an integrated approach of biochemistry, fluorescence spectroscopy, confocal microscopy, molecular imaging, cell culture and animal model to identify and characterize key proteins involved in the pathogenic processes of cardiac disease (e.g. hypertrophy and arrhythmia) and to develop novel therapeutic strategies.

Job Title: Postdoctoral Fellow in Phosphoinositide Signaling
Job Description:A postdoctoral position is available in the research laboratory of Dr. Lucia Rameh at the Boston Biomedical Research Institute (BBRI) to study mechanisms of phosphoinositide regulation and function, and PI3Kinase signaling in disease. Candidates should have a Ph.D., M.D., or equivalent in the fields of biochemistry, cellular and molecular biology, or related areas.

Job Title: Postdoctoral Fellow position in Functional Proteomics
A postdoctoral position is available in October 2008, to study proteolytic processes using mass spectrometry. Candidates should have a Ph.D., in the fields of biochemistry, analytical chemistry, mass spectrometry or bioinformatics. The study will focus on characterizing proteolytic enzyme and their peptide products in complex biological samples and diseases such as oral squamous cell carcinoma and Sjögren’s syndrome using novel, functional and activity-based mass spectrometry approaches.

Job Title: Postdoctoral Fellow in Cardiac Biology
The position requires Ph.D. preferentially in Cardiovascular or Cell/Molecular Biology. The candidate will develop novel therapeutic strategies to cure heart diseases by analyzing cell death and hypertrophy in a mouse model conditionally overexpressing MDM2 in the heart in a tetracycline-inducible manner. The study is based on our recently published papers centered on the p53 related proteins MDM2 and Puma [Am J Physiol Heart Circ Physiol. [2006) 291:52-60; J Biol Chem. (2006) 281:3679-89; Mol Cell. (2005) 20:539-50]. The candidate’s salary is according to the NIH scale.
