Faculty Positions

Job Title: Faculty Positions -- equivalent to Assistant, Associate or Full Professor

As part of its ongoing expansion, Boston Biomedical Research Institute invites applications for faculty positions at ranks equivalent to Assistant, Associate or Full Professor, commensurate with independent research experience. Candidates must have a Ph.D., M.D., or equivalent degrees and a track record of high-impact and creative research supported by ongoing extramural funding.

BBRI has recently increased both its faculty and shared instrumentation significantly and is the host of an NIH-funded Wellstone Center for muscle disease research and therapeutic
development. Additionally, BBRI has four well-established research programs in Cancer
Biology, Cardiovascular Biology, Regenerative Biology, and Integrative Protein Biology,
which provide unique opportunities for resources and collaboration for new faculty.

Candidates’ research areas should complement and broaden one or more of these research programs. BBRI is a dynamic independent research institute located within minutes of Boston area research universities and medical centers. BBRI is composed of a diverse and highly collaborative group of molecular, structural, mathematical, muscle and stem cell biologists, who utilize state-of-the-art technologies and innovative approaches to further our understanding of molecular mechanisms relevant to biomedicine.

The Institute provides an extensive benefit package to all BBRI employees.

Applicants should send their curriculum vitae and a research statement, as well as the names and contact information of three potential references, electronically to Ms. Angela DiPerri at the following address: diperri@bbri.org subject line “Faculty positions at BBRI.”

Deadline for receipt of applications is January 15, 2009.

Job Title: Proteomics Research Investigator -- equivalent to Assistant, Associate or Full Professor
Boston Biomedical Research Institute seeks investigators in proteomics research to join our growing initiative in Integrative Protein Biology, which builds on BBRI’s historical strengths in protein biochemistry and molecular biophysics.

Recent faculty hires and a major expansion of instrumentation are driving the incorporation of proteomics and systems biology approaches into the diverse research programs at BBRI. Scientists who employ proteomics approaches, including but not limited to quantitative mass spectrometry-based techniques, for investigations relevant to human disease are encouraged to apply.

Faculty positions are available at ranks equivalent to Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor, commensurate with independent research experience. Candidates must have a Ph.D., M.D., or equivalent degrees and relevant postdoctoral research experience, as well as a track record of extramural funding.
